The Rain Forest is the ideal decorative substrate to create decorations of rainforest terrariums with natural plants and with reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates that love moisture. This tropical jungle substrate regulates the humidity of the terrarium in a natural way, absorbing it and releasing it slowly. Its hygroscopic properties are maximized thanks to the addition of natural sphagnum moss to the mix. Adequate levels of air humidity help shed skin and help prevent respiratory infections. The unique size and shape of the bark particles, in combination with natural moss, allow for frequent watering of the plants while still providing good aeration for healthy root growth. The Exo Terra® Rain Forest has been heat treated to reduce bacterial contamination.
